Thank you for visiting our blog! As you can see from the below posts, posting on this blog has been an infrequent event, but I thought it might be a fun and green way to keep you updated on our happenings from this last year!
Stephen and I are doing well. We are still down in Santa Barbara and are enjoying it there. It is amazing how our three years of marriage have whizzed by! Last October, I joined Stephen's company and now have been there for over a year. I am on the sales team (going along with my marketing background) and am enjoying it.
Stephen and I had been planning for a Europe trip since we first got married and are happy to say that we made it there in August! The beginning of the trip did not go as planned as we missed our plane to Barcelona due to bad weather on the East Coast. We were "stuck" in Philadelphia for a whole weekend! We made the best of the situation, did some sightseeing in our nation's original capital, played in the rain and ate some authentic Philly Cheesesteak before heading to Barcelona, where we spent half a day before heading off to our next stop, Rome.
Rome was purposely the highlight of our trip, we spent a whole week there! The history was amazing and we got to see some lesser traveled parts of the area, such as the catacombes and Villa Borghese. From Rome, we headed to the beautiful Greek island of Santorini where we spent our third anniversary. We loved Santorini and can't wait to go back. The sunsets were gorgeous, the water at the beaches was clearer than any we'd seen, and we traveled around the island together on a blue ATV. Two full days was not enough! We concluded our trip in Athens where we experienced history older than Rome's!
Other highlights of the year included time with our families (there is never enough because they don't live close by), the weddings of many friends we were blessed to attend (the closest wedding to us was 100 miles away). I started ocean swimming twice a week with friends from work. Although it is cold, I love it! Stephen stays very active with sports such as tennis and ping pong. We adopted a cat, Shadow. She has been a great addition to our home.
